Missionary Housing
These images portray missionary and orphanage housing constructed
and refurbished by the mission team working along with the missionaries
at El Camino Mission.
.
Photo at
left is the home of missionaries Norman and Gloria Higgins with the
missions team planning and preparing the work on the screened room
addition.
Now
completed (seen at right), the room is used as an office and a prayer
room. During visits by mission teams, the room is also used for
serving meals. The missions team gathers here in the evening hours,
where there is much weeping, praying, and crying
out to God. It is a place where Christians slow down long enough for
rest and spiritual healing.

Pictured
at left is one
of the most used structures on the campus. It is used as a school room
and as a nursery for all of the church services. It is also used as
sleeping quarters for visiting mission teams. Originally,
the toilet and electric didn’t work; there were no windows, no
carpet, no curtains. Even
a ping pong table was used as part of the exterior wall, shown at ight.
The
completed project is shown at left.

Pictured at right is the rear of the Higgins’ home. Seven
men of the mission team constructed this 10x56-foot addition,
which houses the laundry facilities and a sewing machine for mending
and sewing all the children's clothing.
The
room now serves as the new office, but, at times, the room is
even used for meals.
Depicted at left is the interior during construction; seen
below right is the home showing the completed addition in the
foreground, with the church and other housing shown in
the background.
